OUR TOP TIPS ON CANDLE CARE

HOW TO LOOK AFTER YOUR CANDLES

Taking care of your scented candles ensures they remain beautiful and fragrant. With a little attention, you'll enjoy candles that burn evenly and without smoke.

Here are our top tips for optimal candle care:

TRIM YOUR WICK

Regular wick trimming is crucial for candle maintenance. Before lighting your candle, or after every 4 hours of burn time, trim the wick to about 3mm.

This practice ensures an even burn and maintains a clean, steady flame throughout the life of your candle.

A wick trimmer is handy for this task, especially when the wick is too low for scissors. If you don't have a trimmer, pinching the wick with your fingers works just as well.

THE FIRST BURN IS IMPORTANT

Ensure the entire top layer of wax melts on your first burn. If not, wax can remain on the edges, leading to uneven burns in the future.

We suggest burning your candle for 3 hours initially to avoid tunneling on subsequent burns.

KEEP IT CLEAN

  • Keep debris out of the melted wax pool. Avoid leaving half-burnt matches or wick remnants in the wax, as they can cause the candle to smoke and produce black soot instead of a pleasant scent.

  • Untrimmed wicks can shed burnt pieces into the wax, posing a fire risk and creating an unpleasant odor.

Although often overlooked, this step helps your candle last longer and keeps its fragrance fresh.

FOUR HOURS BURN TIME

To prevent any issues, we recommend limiting each burn session to 4 hours. Always supervise your candle while it's burning.

BE SAFE

  • Always keep candles out of reach of children and pets.

  • To avoid burns, do not touch the candle until it has fully cooled.

  • Place your candles in a safe location, away from drafts and flammable objects, and ensure they are at least 10cm apart from each other.

  • DON’T BURN BELOW 5MM Once your candle reaches 5mm of wax, it's time to stop burning it. But don’t worry, you can always purchase another one of our luxury candles to enjoy for another 40 hours.
